The outdoor community zabava is hosted at camp Bar-V-Nok at Pigeon Lake. For the first time, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council brings their annual Ukrainian Day Festival to a beautiful Pigeon Lake for a unique community gathering! We welcome you to this family-friendly event. Join us for a picnic-style concert from 2-4 pm which will feature Zabava y Koli, Ihor Bohdan, as well as other talented Ukrainian musicians from both Edmonton and Calgary. Supervised children’s activities will include teacher-led dance classes, face painting, a photo booth, and more!

Zabava u Koli
Zabava u Koli – meaning Party in a Circle – or – Party at Mykola’s (depending on interpretation), is an Alberta-based band specializing in Ukrainian music. Made up of members Adrian Zmewsky, Matt Horbay, Mykola Bilash, Mykola Nykyforuk, Olexander Lazurko, and Zac Gabriel, their passion for Ukrainian music, combined with their love of high-energy songs, defines their sound.
Ihor Bohdan is a celebrated singer who has performed on the professional stage for over 40 years. He has performed at main stages and festivals in numerous countries, including Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Belgium, UK, USA, Australia, and Canada. Ihor has donated the majority of proceeds from his concerts to support orphanages in Ukraine and to the children who lost their parents at war in Eastern Ukraine. He was awarded one of the highest awards in Ukraine – Ukraine’s Order of Merit for his outstanding contributions to the promotion and nurturing of the Ukrainian culture.
Slava Sles is a musician, singer and music teacher with 10 years of experience, currently based in Calgary. She was the winner of the 1st prize of the music competition in the Czech Republic and Finland and was the founder of the band “Flame Bandura”. She has performed an international tour with Ukrainian songs in 18 countries.
Oleksandr Danyleiko is the Consul General of Ukraine in Edmonton since 2018. He has a strong passion for Ukrainian music — he plays guitar and sings. Danyleiko’s performances of Ukrainian songs can be found on his YouTube channel.
