On Saturday May 17, 2014 our Ukrainian community is coming together to celebrate our culture and beautiful tradition, the Ukrainian «Vyshyvanka» (Ukrainian Embroidery). We also will be showing our support for Ukraine in this time of turmoil, advocating for fair and democratic elections.
This worldwide movement of the Vyshyvanka Parade takes place every year in Ukraine as well as amoung the Ukrainian Diaspora. This year Edmonton and Toronto will be simultaneously taking part. To learn more about this international movement please see:

We encourage all to come out, wearing their embroidered blouses, shirts, choir or dance costumes, and join in the 45 minute stroll through downtown Edmonton.(See attached map). We will be starting at Sir Winston Churchill Square at 1:00 p.m, and then proceed to march through the downtown area, completing our walk at the Legislature, by the Pioneer monument. There will be a brief program at the Legislature grounds.
If you cannot make the parade, meet us at 2:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian Pioneer Monument by the Legislature Fountains.
