The Holodomor National Awareness Bus has arrived in Alberta!
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council is pleased to announce that the Holodomor Mobile Classroom (HMC) is officially on the road in Alberta, spreading the awareness about the man-made Famine of 1932-33 in which millions of Ukrainian were starved to death.
The Holodomor Mobile Classroom (HMC) is the centrepiece of the Holodomor National Awareness Tour, a project of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, developed in parnership with the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium (HREC), the Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress. The project is funded through a grant from the Canadian federal government, the Ontario provincial government, Manitoba provincial government and private donations.
A lesson for the HMC has been developed and the experience underscores the consequences of hate, oppression and discrimination and the importance of tolerance, human rights and the rule of law.
The HMC will be visiting schools in addition to public showings throughout Edmonton, April 17-21, 2017 . For any further questions regarding the visit of the HMC, contact the Holodomor National Awareness Tour at the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – ALberta Provincial Coucil 780 414-1624.
