Join us for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear the story of the Russo-Ukrainian War from the perspective of the Indigenous Crimean Tatars, whose land was illegally annexed from Ukraine by Russia in 2014. Hear the history of the Indigenous peoples of Crimea, and the struggle to defend their land, rights, and culture against Russian oppression.
Presented by Dr. Gayana Yüksel, an Indigenous Crimean Tatar and Professor of Journalism visiting from Volodymyr Vernadsky Taurida National University, Kyiv, Ukraine. Dr. Gayana Yüksel will be a visiting scholar at MacEwan University.
