Commemoration of the 3rd Anniversary of the Ukrainian Famine and Genocide (Holodomor) Memorial Act Day in Alberta

On Monday, November 28, 2011, a Special Commemoration Ceremony was held at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta
 to mark the 3rd Anniversary of the passage of the Ukrainian Famine and Genocide (Holodomor) Memorial Day Act – as sponsored by Hon. Gene Zwozdesky, MLA.

Oh, Canada! and Sche ne vmerla Ukrajiny national anthems of Canada and Ukraine, andZhuravli song performed by students from St. Martin and St. Matthew Ukrainian Bilingual Schools in Edmonton.
Welcome by the Hon. Ken Kowalski, Speaker of the Legislative Assemly of Alberta, MLA.
Remarks by MLAs Brian Mason, Paul Hinman, Dr. Raj Sherman, Gene Zwozdesky, Doug Horner (on behalf of Premier Alison Redford) as well as Holodomor 1932-33 Survivor Leonid Korownyk, “Vasyl’ Stus” Kyiv Memorial Society President Roman Krutsyk, UCC-Edmonton President Luba Feduschak (on behalf of UCC-APC President Daria Luciw).
Candle lighting and minute of silence.
