Opportunity with UCC Alberta Provincial Council
Marketing/Communications Officer
The Officer will work on marketing and communication assignments for UCC-APC and its fall events. The Officer plays an integral role in the branding of UCC-APC. The position will assist the Executive Director with the UCC-APC communication and marketing activities. The candidate will lead the initiative and apply their knowledge and experience to creating intuitive social media content. The Officers will ensure consistent messaging is applied across all UCC-APC communication channels. Visual storytelling experience will be considered an asset.
● Work with the Executive Director on social media and community engagement activities;
● Engage with social media followers and update on the ongoing and new projects;
● Communicate with UCC-APC stakeholders on various requests.
● Assist Executive Director with sponsorship package development;
● Social media content creation for the Hetman Award and Holodomor
Employment Terms:
– 35 h/week for 8 weeks $17/h (hours can be flexible)

Qualifications
- Experience working with community organizations would be considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Fluency in English and basic Ukrainian would be considered an asset

The UCC-APC will follow all public health guidelines and directives from federal, provincial and local authorities in implementing the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Please note: reliability requirements are as per Employment and Social Development Canada.
To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling and those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
